TOKYO, Japan — 15 July 2026, Thai youth representatives won a total of 32 awards at the World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) 2026, an international mathematics competition held on 13 July at the Chiba Prefecture Cultural Hall in Japan.

More than 1,300 students from 25 countries took part in this year’s competition. Thailand fielded a team of 27 students, who returned home with nine gold medals, five silver medals, 10 bronze medals, one merit award and several special prizes.

Phumithep Klungurai, president and who holds the position of Vice president of the WMI committee, said the performance of the Thai representatives this year reflected the potential of Thai students on the international stage.
