AI Safety Institute

Government bodies established to evaluate frontier AI models for safety risks. The US AISI sits inside NIST; the UK AISI operates under the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Both maintain evaluation frameworks for pre-deployment model testing and coordinate via the international network of AI safety institutes.
